Hydrotherapy is a form of physical therapy conducted in warm water to help dogs recover from injury, surgery, or manage ongoing conditions like arthritis or hip dysplasia. The buoyancy of the water reduces stress on joints, allowing for gentle and effective exercise.

- Cruciate ligament injuries
- Post-surgical recovery
- Obesity or weight management
- Neurological conditions

We also offer fun sessions for fitness, stamina building, and confidence in water or just enrichment and playtime 🥰
No you don’t need a vet referal but as an IRVAP-accredited hydrotherapy centre, all dogs must be confirmed fit to participate by their vet before starting treatment. We call this a “Fit to Swim” form and this needs to be signed by your vet before your first session.
The first session includes a full assessment, a discussion of your dog’s health history, and a gentle introduction to the pool. We’ll take our time to make sure your dog feels comfortable and begin some light, supported exercise.
Our priority on your first session is to make sure your dog enjoys their experience and has a positive session so we will go at their own pace to ensure they leave our centre happy and confident to return.
Every dog is different. Some may benefit from just a few sessions for recovery, while others with chronic conditions may attend regularly as part of ongoing management. We’ll provide a personalised plan with each client after the initial assessment. You do not need to book a block of sessions but we do recommend attending regularly if you are looking to see a difference in your dogs health.
Absolutely not. We take a calm, patient approach. If your dog is nervous, we’ll go at their pace. Building trust is essential, and we never rush the process, even if that means their first session is just building up confidence on the ramp and getting lost of treats and praise.
- Avoid feeding your dog for at least 2 hours before and after their session
- Ensure they have toileted before arrival
- Bring a towel (or two!), their favourite toys and their favourite treats if possible
If your dog is feeling unwell, please let us know in advance
Yes, we actively encourage owners to stay and watch. Your presence can help reassure your dog and build their confidence in the water. We love it when owners get involved and encourage their dogs from the edge of the pool.
Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance to retain your deposit. Missed appointments or late cancellations may be charged at the full rate. Take a look at our full Terms & Conditions here.
No unfortunately we do not offer this service as this is something we aren’t insured for. Everyone is welcome in the centre but unfortunately only pooches in the pool.
We book everyone a 45 minute session and this includes introductions, buoyancy aid fittings, showering before and afterwards, desensitisation, time in the pool and drying off time. These times all change as your dogs confidence grows and are dependent on each dog’s condition.
Many pet insurance companies will cover the cost for hydrotherapy sessions if they believe it will help with your dog’s condition. This will need to be discussed with your insurance in advance before your first session. Unfortunately they do not cover fun swim sessions.
You can book a session via phone call, email or social media. You can find all our contact details on our website on the Contact page.
Session prices vary depending on the type of treatment. Please contact us for the latest pricing. A ÂŁ20 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your session.
Most dogs take to hydrotherapy well, especially in our calm, supportive environment. The warm water is soothing and enjoyable, and even nervous dogs often relax quickly with our experienced handlers guiding them every step of the way.
If your puppy is suffering from a condition where hydrotherapy will be a good health benefit then yes of course, we work with puppies from 16 weeks.
If your puppy does not have health issues but you wanted to bring them along for a fun session we have a confidence building session especially for puppies.
Hydrotherapy improves strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness, while reducing strain on joints. It can also help with weight management and mental relaxation, thanks to the soothing effects of warm water and gentle movement.
Yes, hydrotherapy is a low-impact, controlled exercise that’s safe for most dogs. Each session is tailored to your dog’s specific needs and health status. We always carry out an initial assessment to ensure it’s appropriate for your pet.
Hydrotherapy is highly effective for dogs recovering from surgery or injury, and for those with conditions like arthritis, hip dysplasia, or degenerative joint disease. It’s also beneficial for senior dogs and those managing obesity or mobility issues.
